Andy Ford
Treasurer
Andy is an experienced leader with 15+ years in the manufacturing industry and has worked across multiple continents. With a passion for change management & leadership combined with his degree in Accounting & Finance, his focus is to support Rising Lights Project through their exciting growth journey as the Treasurer. Outside of work his passions are gardening and endurance car racing.

Jessica Spizzirri
Secretary
As the mother of a daughter with Down syndrome, Jessica brings personal insight, advocacy, and unwavering dedication to the mission of Rising Lights Project using her family's lived experiences as a guiding light. She is committed to ensuring her community is the gold standard for allowing people with disabilities and their families to feel seen, loved, and included.

Mike Backer
Mike is a retired educator of nearly 40 years; having served as a teacher, coach, and administrator at the elementary, middle and high school levels. In addition to his service on the Rising Lights Board, Mike is the Director of Family and Community Services for the VSW in Batavia, serving adults who are neurally diverse in enhancing their vocational, social and self-development. Mike, and his wife, Colleen have 6 children and call St. Charles home.

Michelle Demaray
Michelle is a Professor of Psychology, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, and Certified School Psychologist. She is broadly interested in the mental health of youth. She conducts research on social support and bully and victimization in schools. Michelle assists Rising Lights with grant writing to support our work and mission.

Tom Dennis
Tom is a proud husband and father of three, including a daughter with Down syndrome who inspires the Dennis family's deep involvement in Rising Lights Project. Originally from Chicago and now living in Elburn, Tom brings over 35 years of experience in business to RLP. When not working, Tom loves traveling and spending time with family and friends at the lake, boating and riding wave runners.

Gretchen Gilbert
Gretchen is a mom of 3 and a passionate fundraiser for underserved communities. She lives in Batavia and enjoys many hobbies and social events of all sorts.

Belle Jasso
Isabel (Belle) is a dedicated registered nurse serving at a special education cooperative, where she combines her clinical expertise with a deep compassion for individuals with disabilities. With more than ten years of experience in ministry and service, she has been a devoted advocate for children and adults with special needs.

Bridget is a Special Education teacher dedicated to nurturing an environment where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered to succeed.

Stephanie Kubas
Stephanie is mom to three girls, one of whom has a rare genetic syndrome. With a passion for supporting fellow caregivers, in addition to serving on the Rising Lights Board, she co-leads our Rising Moms support group. Stephanie has worked in marketing for 15 years and currently serves as Assistant Vice President for Marketing and Communications at Dominican University.
