Rising Moms Caregiver’s Retreat

Rising Moms Caregiver’s Retreat

Feb. 28-March 1 | Optional Add-On Night: Feb. 27

Lodge - Geneva National
Lake Geneva, WI

Caring for a child with disabilities changes everything—but it doesn’t have to mean losing yourself. Step away from the daily demands of caregiving and spend a weekend focused on you.

The Rising Moms Caregivers Retreat offers space to rest, connect, and rediscover your own resilience alongside women who truly understand the journey. Through inspiring conversations, creative self-care, and time to simply laugh and unwind, you’ll leave refreshed, encouraged, and reminded that you’re never alone in this journey.

Featuring Keynote Speakers

Betsy Hicks-Russ

With more than 30 years as a mother, advocate, and caregiver, Betsy Hicks-Russ brings raw, lived-in wisdom to the caregiving journey in her talk You Can Do Hard Things. As founder of Autism Odyssey, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families and fostering understanding for individuals with autism, and mom to her adult son Joey, who is autistic and non-verbal, Betsy’s work is grounded in real experience and deep empathy. She’ll also lead an optional breakout session exploring her journey into the mystery of mind-to-mind connection and her experience on the podcast The Telepathy Tapes.

Laurie Hellmann

With decades of lived experience as a caregiver and mother to an adult son with profound needs, Laurie Hellmann brings honesty, humor, and hard-earned wisdom to her talk Reframing the Journey: How Perspective Fuels Resilience in Motherhood. Host of the podcast Living the Sky Life — Our Autism Journey and author of Welcome to My Life: A Personal Parenting Journey Through Autism, Laurie helps caregivers shift from a mindset of “have to” toward one of “get to,” uncovering purpose and gratitude along the way. Join Laurie for a heartfelt meet-and-greet and book signing following her session.

Retreat Attendee

“This weekend, we were surrounded by caregivers who just get it. We laughed, we cried, we were seen, heard and understood in a way only another caregiver could understand. We realized we weren’t alone and made connections we know will last a lifetime.”

Retreat Attendee

Had such a great weekend at the Rising Moms Retreat (Rising Lights Project)! Being a special needs parent can be isolating, but being surrounded by 50 other moms who just “get it” was truly amazing.”
